Arts Council
Board of Directors

The Sierra County Arts Council has a volunteer Board of Directors that governs the Arts Council as a non-profit entity. The Arts Council strives for demographic representation on its Board, and currently includes some members who are part-time county residents. Board members must be committed to the sustainability of the Arts Council and must expect to be part of a working Board.

The Board operates according to high standards of professionalism and accountability. It has a clear Conflict of Interest Disclosure Policy, and has recently adopted a Statement of Values and Code of Ethics.

County residents with business and professional skills and a love of the arts are encouraged to apply for open Board positions. This is a great way to connect with other art lovers in Sierra County and make a real difference to the community.

Currently, the Sierra County Arts Council Board of Directors consists of the following members:

The Board of Directors meets monthly when possible, and no less frequently than once per quarter. Occasionally, the Board meets by teleconference. Board members are expected to have email accounts for regular Board correspondance..

The Board meets in locations throughout the county. Facilitated annual town hall meetings are held on both sides of the county to provide additional access and gather information, while encouraging dialogue around the arts.

The Board is always interested in hearing from Sierra County art lovers with special arts management skills that they would like to share with the community. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact the Arts Council at sierrart@sccn.net
